Victor Wembanyama stats, highlights: Spurs No. 1 pick bounces back strong in second Summer League game | Sporting News (2024)

Victor Wembanyama's Summer League debut may have left fans looking for more, but he made up for it in his second game.

The French phenom was subject to criticism after finishing with just nine points on 2-for-13 shooting from the field in front of a sold-out Thomas & Mack Center on Friday. He responded like the competitor he is, putting his bad debut behind him with a monster showing against the Trail Blazers.

Wembanyama looked more energetic and engaged on both ends of the floor. He attacked the basket with aggression and found a rhythm with his jumper. Despite the loss, the No. 1 overall pick finished with 27 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks while shooting an efficient 9-for-14 from the field.

If you missed any of Wembanyama's bounce-back second game, The Sporting News had you covered with live updates, highlights and more throughout the contest.
